The HRPS Board closed out 2009 at its monthly meeting on December 3rd:
Community Involvement:
- HRPS made a $1,000 donation to VSArts and the Lake Mansion for services rendered.
Projects and Walking Tours:
- Home Tour: The committee continues their work and is looking at June, 2010 as a possible date. The committee is identifying properties that would be suitable and developing rules to make the tour run smoothly. If anyone is interested in serving on the committee or has suggestions, call Sharon at 843-3823.
- Powning Gateway: planning continues on creating a signature "gateway" to identify and educate about the Powning Conservation District. The process includes feedback from the City of Reno's Arts and Culture Commission and Parks and Recreation.
- Student Education Project: HRPS tour leaders recently led a tour for Desert Heights Elementary, both in the classroom and on a field trip.
- Walking Tours: the last tour of the year, the Prohibition Tour, was held on December 5 with about 25 souls braving the December weather.
